Privacy and data protection

Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the operator of Traylo; its details and contact channels are in legal information.
What we process
- Account data if you create one: your name, e-mail and password (stored in a form that cannot be turned back into the password), your phone if you add it, and when you accepted the terms.
- What you publish: reviews, questions, answers and photos, shown to everyone under your short name.
- Your messages with businesses inside Traylo.
- Your saved places and trips: on your device before you sign in, in your account after. Children's ages in a trip are optional and never shown to anyone.
- Your points and their history.
- For business owners: the business data they publish, which is shown to everyone.
- Technical data: your IP address to protect the platform from abuse, the notification token in the app, and your last sign-in time.
Why we process it
- To run your account, show what you publish and deliver your messages.
- To send verification codes and notifications about your account.
- To prevent abuse and fraud and to review reports.
- To answer support requests.
- To improve Traylo with usage statistics, if you allow them.
We rely on our need for the data to provide the service you asked for, our legitimate interest in protecting the platform, our legal obligations, and your consent where it is required.
Usage statistics
We ask you once: “Allow” or “No, thanks”, and both choices carry the same weight. You can change your choice here at any time. Without your consent we keep no lasting identifier on your device and we don't keep the text of your searches.
If you allow them, we keep an anonymous identifier on your device that doesn't carry your name, we keep your search text with numbers and addresses removed for 90 days, and we keep your IP address only as a code that doesn't reveal it, for 30 days. The usage records themselves are deleted after 13 months.
Even without your consent we count business page visits and contact-button taps without a lasting identifier, because business owners see these counts and ads are charged on them.
Service providers
We run Traylo with the services of these companies, which process your data on our behalf only as far as needed:
- Supabase: database and files.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Resend: sending e-mail.
- Expo: app notifications through Apple and Google services.
- Anthropic and Google: AI features in the planner, the assistant and on-demand translation.
- OpenFreeMap: map images, requested by your browser directly, so they receive your IP address.
- Sentry: technical error reports from the website and the app.
These providers' servers are outside Türkiye, so your data is stored and processed there.
AI and translation
When you ask for a trip plan or write to the assistant, we send the AI provider only what it needs to write the answer, without your name or e-mail. Public reviews and answers are translated when a reader asks; your private messages and trip notes are never sent for translation.
Cookies and storage on your device
We use a cookie to keep you signed in and a cookie that remembers the destination you chose. On your device we keep your saved places and trips before you sign in, your recent searches, and your usage statistics choice. You can clear your search history in Account → Privacy.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as the account exists. When you delete your account, we delete its data as described there. Support messages are deleted 24 months after the request is closed.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (No. 6698) you may:
- Learn whether we process your data, and ask for information about it and the purpose of processing.
- Learn who it is transferred to, in Türkiye or abroad.
- Ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and for those it was transferred to to be told.
- Object to a result that harms you and comes only from automated analysis.
- Claim compensation if unlawful processing harmed you.
Download a copy of your data from Account → Privacy, or send your request through our contact channels.
